The pharmacological effects of gardenia

The pharmacological effects of gardenia

Pharmacological effects

1. Antimicrobial effect: In vitro tests have shown that it is effective for 4-5 species of dysentery bacillus, especially for pupa shells. Gardenia decoction (100%) is not only effective against various strains of dysentery, but also has strong effects on Pseudomonas aeruginosa and diphtheria bacilli, against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, pneumococci, hemolytic streptococcus, Proteus, Salmonella typhimurium also has a role (paper method); the effective concentrations for Shigella, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are 1:32, 1:128, and 1:64 (test tube method), respectively. Scorpion has a good anti-infective effect in vitro. Ethanol extracts extracted with hydrochloric acid and ether have higher antibacterial and antifungal effects.

2. Anti-tumor experiments:

(1) Mouse malignant tumors (ascites carcinoma, spindle cell sarcoma) cells treated with gardenia decoction will lose their viability when they are inoculated into mice.

(2) Inoculated with Ehrlich ascites carcinoma. In Chinese mice with mouse ascites sarcoma and spindle cell sarcoma, the weight of ascites or tumor produced by oral decoction decoction was lower than that in the control group. Scorpion has an inhibitory effect on the growth of Ehrlich ascites carcinoma mice, ascites sarcoma in Chinese mice, and spindle cell sarcoma.

3. Effect of scavenging of reactive oxygen species and damage to human leukocyte DNA against tetradecanoyl bergalool ethyl ester (TPA): 10-20 μg/ml ethanol extract of Gardenia jasminoides significantly inhibits (P<0.01) Fe2+/Vitamin C The lipid peroxidation of mouse liver, lung homogenate and mitochondria was induced, and the water extract of Gardenia jasminoides had an inhibitory effect only at 200-400 μg/ml. The ethanol extract of Gardenia jasminoides 25 μg/ml obviously eliminated riboflavin (VB2) + light-produced O2- and anti-H2O2-induced haemolysis, and water extract of Gardenia jasminoides 100 μg/ml had certain antagonistic effects. The ethanol extract of Gardenia jasminoides 20 μg/ml significantly inhibited human leukocyte chemoluminescence induced by TPA 20 μg/ml, and 50 μg/ml apparently antagonized DNA fragmentation of human leukocytes caused by TPA 100 ng/ml and cigarette smoke agglutinate (CSC) 400 μg/ml. The use of water extract of Gardenia jasminoides to 400 μg/ml was not able to fight against human leukocyte DNA fragmentation caused by the same dose of TPA.

4. Other effects: ginsenoside extracted from dried fruit with 80% ethanol has a papaverine-like antispasmodic effect on smooth muscle; it contains diarrhea components in addition to tannins, so it is similar to rhubarb, causing diarrhoea and then convergence. . Chinese herbal compound containing Chinese wolfberry has reported some anti-cancer effects. The alcohol extracts of the fruits of the same species, Terminalia belenica, have the effect of promoting bile secretion, reducing blood pressure, and inhibiting smooth muscle. The oil contained in its seed kernels is similar to castor oil and has a purgative effect on mice. The hydrolysate (similar to castor oil) also has a stimulatory effect and is not very toxic. There are no obvious inhibitory and antagonistic effects on the spontaneous activity of isolated rabbit intestine and intestinal muscle contraction caused by acetylcholine and barium chloride in different artefacts. There is no obvious difference between the processed products; The same result was obtained with nuclear lice. All the wolfberry seedlings produced a good antidiarrheal effect on mice diarrhea caused by castor oil. There was no significant difference among the processed products, but the inhibitory effect on mice's small intestine transport function was slightly stronger. In short, after wolfberry concocted, the content of tannins increased, which has obvious inhibitory effect on isolated rabbit intestinal contraction, and has better antidiarrheal effect on mouse diarrhea. However, pure tannic acid can not relax the rabbit's isolated bowel, but the bowel contraction. With the addition of gardenia decoction (100%) in addition to the effective Shigella, the role of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, diphtheria bacilli strong against Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, pneumococcus, hemolytic streptococcus, Proteus, Tylosin Bacillus also has effects; the effective concentrations for Shigella, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are 1:32, 1:128, and 1:64, respectively. Gardenia extract has inactivated the flu.
